Tophill Low Nature Reserve

Last weekend's visit to Tophill Low was bright and sunny, but was a little on the cool side, so I was surprised to see grass snakes and a superb Migrant Hawker dragonfly.

The day continued to delight with this Kingfisher seen at North Marsh hide, unfortunately though he didn't stay around for long . It was however, really great for my two boys as it was the first time they had seen a Kingfisher and we didn't even have to wait too long for him to appear this time!

This Chiffchaff was seen in the woodland near North Marsh hide

A Comma butterfly - my first!!
